Still on What We Did Last Summer

My previous post was all about our Summer escapes at resorts in Pangasinan. This time, we head to the neighboring province of La Union in Pugo, and we call it Pugad (short term for Pugo Adventure). It was Black Saturday when we went there. Driving all the way from Sta. Maria, Pangasinan, we reached Pugo at 8 in the morning, leaving home at 6:00 in the morning. We thought we already came early, but to our surprise the parking lot was almost full. We proceeded to the registration area to pay the entrance fee and all, and unfortunately we were informed that the kubo rentals were all rented out due to the holy week holiday. As the resort policy, one cannot enter without having a kubo or picnic table as this is where you will put your belongings. I was right from then that we should make a reservation ahead of time but my husband told me not to, since Pugo is just nearby. The receptionist informed us that they will add more picnic tables to accommodate more guests and we reserved right away. We ended up waiting for almost 2 hours before we were allowed to enter. Well, everything’s worth it as the kids loved the place.

There are a lot of fun things to do aside from swimming. One can do rapelling, wall climbing, ATV, argo ride, paintball, you name it. I copied below photo from Pugad FB page to illustrate the prices and activities.

So far, the most popular activity is the zipline. I have to admit, I’m afraid of heights and I don’t have the brave soul to dare and try – I leave it to the young in spirits, I let the kids do it and watched them with envy… (***sigh…)

After swimming, we had some leisurely walk on the Children’s Play Area, to the Mini Zoo and to the gardens. It was indeed a wonderful day spent with the family.
