Ahh.. Paris! Everyone is dreaming of this magical place. And that includes us.
It was our very first trip to Paris and I couldn’t get more excited especially when we are celebrating our 5 years of marriage in this so called “City of Love”. I never thought that my dream would finally come to a reality.
We commenced our Paris tour by thanksgiving. Being Catholics, we went to the beautiful and famous Notre Dame Cathedral to offer prayers and thanksgiving – for the gift of life and for the gift of love. We also thanked God for the wonderful opportunity He has given us to be in this wonderful city with the family and asked Him for His guidance on our marriage life.
And then we went to Pont de Arts, a pedestrian bridge known for the Lovers’ Love Locks. It is believed that this bridge has been a witness to undying love of two lovers. Names were engraved or written on the padlocks, attach it to the railings of the bridge, lock it and throw away they key or keys on the Seine River. Unfortunately, we’re not able to do this ritual as we’re not able to bring our padlock with us.
Of course, no trip in Paris is complete without visiting Eiffel Tower, which we all know is the spectacular icon of the country. I have seen Eiffel Tower in pictures and posters but nothing compares to seeing it with my very own eyes. It has a more fabulous view at night where lights are lit up, thus another name for Paris as Paris The City of Light.
We had our Anniversary lunch by the way in an Italian Restaurant called Del Arte Ristorante. They served mouth-watering pasta and pizza and we had enjoyed our meal. Our dinner was an Asian cuisine. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take the name of the restaurant.
We ended the night by celebrating over a bottle of wine in our hotel room.
